DESCRIPTION:Many agencies lack the resources to provide comprehensive training on a consistent basis and often view training as something that must be provided by an outside entity. This basic instructor course is designed to produce quality trainers\, with the knowledge and skill to systematically identify\, design\, implement\, and deliver cost-effective training programs for new and existing personnel. This four-day course will address the key methods of curriculum development\, conducting and facilitating training\, with the illustrative components designed to increase training value/effectiveness. \nTopics: \n• Classroom preparation/logistics\,\n• Writing performance objectives\,\n• Lesson plan development\,\n• Training aid tools/design\,\n• Application of adult learning theory\,\n• Measuring the success of training. \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND? \nTrainers who have not completed an advanced or basic instructor development course. \nCourse Instructor: \nDr. Eddie C. Levins is a career public administrator with over 20-years of experience in jail/prison management\, law enforcement administration\, facilities management\, security and investigations\, policy development and strategic planning\,within both the public and private sectors.He has served as a training/technical consultant for the U.S. Department of Justice\, National Institute of Corrections\, American Jail Association\,and auditor for the American Correctional AssociationCommission on Accreditation for Corrections.
